About the Grant
Keys of Inspiration®:
- Is about access, equity, and sustainability.
- The program ensures that children receive the benefits of music education regardless of their socioeconomic background, language of origin, or current academic level.
- Music is treated not only as an artistic discipline, but as a powerful tool for personal development. Through regular, structured engagement with music, students build confidence, strengthen their attention span, develop collaborative skills, and master emotional regulation and expression.
- KOI classrooms provide a safe, structured creative outlet in schools for students where they can safely explore and express their emotions.
- In music, students can process their experiences, are encouraged to apply themselves, and explore their creativity.
School Selection Criteria:
- Title 1 School, serving grades K-8
- 75% minimum enrollment in Free/Reduced Lunch Program
- School district is able to partner with LLIMF
- School district is able to accept third party donations of technology hardware and equipment
After an intensive application process, selected schools receive the following:
- Permanent piano lab with 20-30 state-of-the-art electric pianos (The ONE Smart Piano)
- Technology integrated classroom learning system built into pianos
- Resources and support guides for setting up your group piano classroom
- Yearly maintenance guides to help plan for long-term success
- Music curriculum developed in collaboration with The Royal Conservatory of Music
- Lang Lang Piano Method books and curriculum
- Supplemental training and ongoing 1:1 support and professional development events throughout the year for KOI music teachers.
- Access to the Keys of Inspiration® WhatsApp Group and Resource Library, and more
Program Structure:
Grades: 2–8 (US) / Year 3–6 (UK)
Students progress from foundational lessons in early grades to advanced electives in middle school and beyond, ensuring continuous growth and a deepening love for music.This holistic, sustainable music education experience empowers schools to provide a lifelong musical journey.
