Introduction

In 2018, I had the honor of hosting a concert for Lang Lang and his Young Scholars at my home. His music and energy immediately moved me. A few months later, I attended the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, Gala.

Sitting there and learning about all of the Lang Lang Foundation’s extraordinary work for music education was inspiring to me. I quickly became very involved in the foundation, accepting a board nomination in 2019 and becoming the Chairman in 2020.

Music can enrich children’s lives and allow them to grow up to become extraordinary humans and leaders. Lang Lang and his Team are so dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students, teachers, and parents through the power of music. I am genuinely proud and humbled to be part of such an incredible organization that will continue to impact and uplift many young people across the country and in the world.

If one word applies to Lang Lang, to the musician, to the man, to his worldview, to those who come into contact with him, it is “inspiration”. It resounds like a musical motif through his life and career. He inspires millions with his open-hearted, emotive playing, whether it be in intimate recitals or on the grandest of stages – such as the 2014 World Cup concert in Rio, with Placido Domingo, to celebrate the final game; the 56th GRAMMY Award, where he performed with Metallica; the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where more than four billion people around the world viewed his performance; the Last Night of the Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall, or the Liszt 200th birthday concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Charles Dutoit which was broadcast live in more than 300 movie theaters around the United States and 200 cinemas across Europe (the first classical music cinemacast to be headlined by a solo artist).

He forms enduring musical partnerships with the world’s greatest artists, from conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel and Sir Simon Rattle, to artists from outside of classical music – among them dubstep dancer Marquese “nonstop” Scott, king of the crooners Julio Inglesias and jazz titan Herbie Hancock.

He even builds relationships with corporations who will help him get classical music to ever-more people – thanks to his Sony ambassadorship, for instance, he brought Prokofiev’s 7th Piano Sonata to the soundtrack of the multi-million- selling computer game Gran Turismo 5and 6! And he builds cultural bridges between East and West, frequently introducing Chinese music to Western audiences, and vice versa.

Christopher Burch, founder and CEO of Burch Creative Capital, has been an entrepreneur and active investor across a wide range of industries for nearly thirty years.

He has contributed to the rise of multiple technology and luxury brands, including Faena Hotel + Universe, Jawbone, Tory Burch, Poppin and Voss Water.  In July 2014, Mr. Burch announced a partnership with beloved entertainer, Ellen DeGeneres, to launch her lifestyle brand, ED by Ellen DeGeneres.  Later that year, he launched Cocoon9, luxury prefab homes with space-saving floor plans, contemporary design, energy efficient features and sophisticated finishes.  Most recently, Burch has devoted efforts to his award-winning hospitality brand, Nihi Sumba, a boutique resort in southeastern Indonesia, which was named the #1 Hotel in the World two years in a row by Travel + Leisure magazine.

Burch has supported the development of several other lifestyle and consumer products brands including BaubleBar, Blink Health, Brad’s Raw Foods, Chubbies, and Soludos.

Mr. Burch relies increasingly on his ability to find the nexus between innovation and implementation with his intuitive understanding of consumer behavior and his experience utilizing superior sourcing infrastructure and direct-to-consumer channels.

Beyond his professional investing, Mr. Burch has a deep passion for charitable projects and has contributed funding toward substantial research and philanthropic initiatives at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, NYU Langone, The Sumba Foundation and his alma maters Tilton School and Ithaca College, among others.

Mr. Burch’s contribution to Mt Sinai is dedicated to the ongoing research of Dr Xiu-Min Li at the Center for Integrative Medicine for Allergies and Wellness. Through his generosity, Dr Li and her team are expanding the investigation and use of alternative therapies and her project “Weight loss with or without Asthma.”

Mr. Burch passionately champions NYU Langone’s Patient-Centered Care Curriculum, an initiative established to optimize physician-patient communication and patient experience through empathy, compassion, and caring.  Launched in 2014 in partnership with Dr. Mark Pochapin, director of the division of Gastroenterology at NYU Langone, the curriculum consists of a number of educational activities, including lectures, roundtables, and educational objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) simulation sessions.

The Sumba Foundation’s aim is to provide humanitarian aid by fostering community-based projects that impact health, including medical access and malaria control, nutrition, education, water and income-generation, while preserving and respecting the culture and traditions of the Sumbanese people. With the enthusiastic support of Mr Burch, who covers and his resort, Nihi, the Foundation has expanded its lunch program for primary schools, increased the number of water wells for villages, and equipped medical clinics with staffing and supplies, dramatically reducing Malaria by 85% in affected areas.

Mr. Burch has been a generous donor to his alma maters, Tilton School and Ithaca College. Through his support Tilton School developed the Burch Athletic Field, the first ever outdoor turf field built on campus, fulfilling a promise he made to himself as a student that he would one day build a turf field so students at the NH prep school could practice their sports outside all year round. His donations to Ithaca College have funded the J. Christopher Burch Endowed Scholarship for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which supports an IC student who exhibits exceptional talent in both creativity and entrepreneurship. In addition, his gifts provide the philanthropy behind the School of Business’s annual Business Idea and Business Plan Competitions.

Sandy Weill is Chairman Emeritus of Citigroup Inc. Mr. Weill retired as CEO of Citigroup on October 1, 2003, and served as Chairman until April 18, 2006.

Mr. Weill, who had been Chairman and CEO of Travelers, became Chairman of its predecessor, Commercial Credit Company, in 1986, successfully leading the company through a public stock offering by its then-parent, Control Data Corporation. Commercial Credit acquired Primerica Corporation in 1988 and adopted its name until 1993, when Primerica acquired The Travelers Corporation and adopted the Travelers Group name. In 1997, the company acquired Salomon Inc. and combined it with its Smith Barney unit to form the global securities and investment firm, Salomon Smith Barney.

Prior to 1986, Mr. Weill had been President of American Express Company and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of its Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company subsidiary. His affiliation with American Express began in 1981 when the company acquired Shearson Loeb Rhoades. Shearson’s origins date back to 1960 when Mr. Weill and three partners co-founded its predecessor, Carter, Berlind, Potoma & Weill. He served as the firm’s Chairman from 1965 to 1984, a period in which it completed over 15 acquisitions to become the country’s second largest securities brokerage firm. In 1993, when Travelers Group acquired Shearson Lehman Brothers’ retail brokerage and asset management businesses, he was reunited with the firm he founded.

Mr. Weill became a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 2001 and served in this capacity until December 31, 2006. He also served as a Director on the Boards of United Technologies Corp. from 1999 to 2003, AT&T Corp. from 1998 until 2002, and E. I. Du Pont Nemours and Company from 1998 until 2001. Mr. Weill is a former member of The Business Council and served on the Working Group on Child Care, headed by then U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Robert E. Rubin. In 2002, Mr. Weill was the recipient of Chief Executive magazine’s CEO of the Year Award. The EastWest Institute awarded Mr. Weill their distinguished Corporate Leadership Award in December 2005 at an event in London with Prime Minister Tony Blair. Mr. Weill is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations, as well as a Director of The Qatar Foundation, International Board; Director of Koç Holding, headquartered in Turkey; and Director of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation.

President Bush asked Mr. Weill, along with four other private sector business leaders, to lead a nationwide effort to encourage private donations for relief and reconstruction in response to the South Asia earthquake that occurred on October 8, 2005. Working with the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, a nonprofit forum of CEOs and Chairpersons, to which Mr. Weill was named Chairman of the Board in July 2004 and is now Honorary Chairman, Mr. Weill and the business leaders quickly established the South Asia Earthquake Relief Fund. Through the efforts of Mr. Weill and the business leaders, the private sector raised over $116 million in cash and in-kind services to help the earthquake victims.

The 1997 recipient of the New York State Governor’s Art Award, Mr. Weill has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Hall since 1991. For Mr. Weill’s 70th birthday, Carnegie Hall raised a record $60 million in one evening thru a generous $30 million match by Mr. and Mrs. Weill for the Weill Music Institute, which established broad-reaching music education programs.

Mr. Weill is Chairman of the Board of Overseers for The Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University, having joined the board in 1982 and becoming chair in 1996. Weill Cornell established the first American medical school overseas in Doha, Qatar, in 2001. This was made possible through a special partnership between Weill Cornell and the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Weill Cornell’s inaugural class in Qatar graduated this past May. Mr. Weill also serves on the Board of Governors of Sidra, a 380-bed Specialty Teaching Hospital that will be completed in 2011 in Qatar. Sidra is supported by a $9 billion endowment from the Qatar Foundation. A Trustee Emeritus of Cornell University, Mr. Weill serves on the Advisory Council of its Johnson Graduate School of Management. In addition, he is a Trustee of New York Presbyterian Hospital and an Overseer of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Long a proponent of education, Mr. Weill instituted a joint program with the New York City Board of Education in 1980 that created the Academy of Finance, which trains high school students for careers in financial services. He serves as Founder and Chairman of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), which oversees more than 500 career-themed Academies in 41 states, as well as the District of Columbia. Ninety percent of NAF’s students graduate, with most going on to post-secondary education – often as the first in their families to attend college.

The Real Deal: My Life in Business and Philanthropy, Mr. Weill’s book, is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best seller.
A longtime friend of President Gerald R. Ford’s, Mr. Weill was an Honorary Pallbearer at the late President’s State Funeral. Mr. Weill is also a Trustee of the Gerald R. Ford Foundation. Mr. and Mrs. Weill are recipients of the 2009 Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy Award.

Mr. Weill, who was born on March 16, 1933, is a graduate of Cornell University. He and Joan have been married for 55 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.

Judith is a very active volunteer particularly within in the education and music communities. Having graduated from Princeton University as one of the nine women in the ground-breaking co-educational Class of 1970 with an A.B. in Near Eastern Studies, Judith completed a master’s degree in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures at New York University.

She subsequently spent a Fulbright Scholar year in Istanbul and at St. Anthony’s College at Oxford University while enrolled in a doctoral program in Near Eastern History at Harvard.

Judith is Board Chair of the Oliver Scholars Program, a New York not-for-profit that helps place and counsels under-served African-American and Latino children in independent college preparatory schools. She is serving her fourteenth year as a trustee of The Lawrenceville School (Lawrenceville, N.J.), where she sits on the executive committee, chairs the Global committee, and co-chairs the development committee. She has been on the Board of Trustees of the National Association of Independent Schools, where she worked on the Governance and Equity and Justice Committees (Washington, D.C); the President of the Board of Far Hills Country Day School (Far Hills, NJ); and served as a trustee of the Delbarton School (Morristown, NJ) and Rutgers Preparatory School (New Brunswick, NJ).

As for music, Judith is currently a Managing Director and Board Secretary of The Metropolitan Opera (New York, NY), and a trustee of the American Friends of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (New York, NY). She has been a trustee of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra (New York, NY) and is a former board chair of the Philharmonic Orchestra of New Jersey.

A trustee of The Central Park Conservancy (New York, NY), Judith was the 2011 recipient of The Central Park Conservancy Women’s Committee’s prestigious Frederick Law Olmsted Award.

She and her husband Willem Kooyker live in New York.

Christy Cressey studied French and Editorial Journalism at the University of Washington, earning her a Bachelor of Arts in 1977.

While at the UW she belonged to the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and also lived in “French House,” a section of McMahon Hall dormitory devoted to speaking the language with other Francophiles. She was chairman of sports activities at her sorority while swimming on the UW’s synchronised swimming team and helping with choreography. She completed her B.S.B.A. in Communications in 1978.

Christy’s journalistic career involved weekly newspapers, aside from short stints in advertising and public relations. Her work involved reporting, photojournalism and proofreading for The Winchester Star in Winchester, Massachusetts. In Illinois she wrote as a staff writer for the Pioneer Press newspapers. Her responsibilities were primarily with the Elm Leaves, the Forest Leaves and the Oak Leaves, serving the communities of Elmwood Park, River Forest and Oak Park respectively. She also worked as a stringer for the Lerner Newspapers in Chicago.

In addition to spending two and a half years renovating a Chicago 1894 Victorian single family cottage, located 525 feet from Wrigley Field’s home plate; Christy chaired the No Lights in Wrigley Field Campaign, euphemistically named C.U.B.S. (Citizens United for Baseball in the Sunshine). As part of that civic effort, she was also actively involved in East Lake View Neighbors and Lake View Citizens Council.

After moving to the Barrington Hills countryside to raise their three daughters, Monique, Charlotte, Alicia, and assorted critters, Christy took up land conservation. She currently resides at Cresswood Farm and manage two ranches. Wolf Run Ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado not only provides the family a place for a winter holiday, but is equally beautiful during the summer when the Indian Paint Brush is in bloom. The other escape, Camp Creek Ranch, located near the Illinois Mississippi Palisades western most border is primarily set up for seventy-five miles of horseback riding trails affording the opportunity to enjoy nature chasing coyotes. Christy is a joint master of foxhounds for Massbach Hounds, the hunt providing such sport.

Through the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, Christy has served as a trustee for Episcopal Charities and has played an active role with Cathedral Shelter, an agency on Chicago’s near west side providing housing and other support to those wishing help with addictions.

Christy has been a member of the Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago since 2001. In 2012, Christy was the co-chair of the Evergreen Invitational Equestrian event which raises funds for grants through the Woman’s Board of Nothwestern Memorial Hopsital.

In 2001, she served as Co-chair of the Parents Council at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, where Christy’s daughter, Monique, graduated with an Economics Degree.

In January 2008, Christy accompanied Care International on a trip to Mali.

In June of 2008, Christy joined the Barrington Choir on a trip to China to sing during the Beijing Olympics.

March 2014, Christy traveled with the Barrington Choir to sing at several locations in Prague, Czech Republic, Budapest, Hungary and Munich, Germany including participation in an International Competition.

In 2015, Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center Christy was an integral part of development. Above and Beyond provides free addiction recovery and counseling on Chicago’s west side. Christy serves as treasurer and is currently developing a work out room for participants.

Christy also quenches her thespian inklings with a group of friends that periodically act and produce plays. With the play reading group Second Set, some of Christy’s past roles have included such leads as Dorothy, in The Wizard of Oz; Sylvia, a golden retriever, in the play of the same name; and the female deaf mute in Children of a Lesser God. Christy also had an extra part in Anchorman 2 and the television show, Empire, Season 1 Episode 3 was filmed at Cresswood Farm. Recently has been part of a pilot shoot for “The Genius”.

Some of her other interests include antiquing, decorating, landscaping, tennis, boating and scuba diving.

David Hsieh is a high tech executive based in Silicon Valley who has served in executive roles at a mix of large public companies such as Cisco, Sybase, Webex and Ubiquiti and startups including FaceTime Communications, Qubole, Instart Logic and Kaptivo. He has had a lifelong passion for the arts.

Hsieh was a two term trustee at the Montalvo Arts Center including 2 years as President of the Board where he guided the 5 year strategic planning process, founded the technology committee and increased revenue to record levels.

He is currently a board member of the US-China Cultural Institute. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Northwestern University.

Michael Haefliger has been involved with major European festivals since the start of his career, initially as an active performing artist and, since 1999, as Lucerne Festival’s Executive and Artistic Director. His career as a solo violinist included engagements in the early 1980s at such festivals as those in Lucerne, Interlaken, and Spoleto. In 1986 he co-founded the “Young Artists in Concert” Festival in Davos, which he led until 1998. From 1996 to 1998, he also served as Artistic Director of the Collegium Novum Zürich’s program.

Since his appointment as Lucerne Festival’s Executive and Artistic Director at the beginning of 199, Haefliger has pursued a number of fresh directions, enhancing the Festival’s commitment to new music and to young audiences alike and implementing such innovative concert formats as the 40min series. He focuses on artistic and social-political points of emphasis for each Summer Festival by programming around a specific theme. For example, he made the role of women in the world of music the topic of discussion in 2016 with the “PrimaDonna“ theme, while in 2021 the thematic focus was on how music can reflect our “crazy” world; the theme of “Diversity” in 2022 addressed issues of social criticism. Among the many initiatives for which Haefliger has been responsible are the establishment, together with Claudio Abbado, of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra in 2003, as well as of the Lucerne Festival Academy with Pierre Boulez. Following the deaths of these two founders, in 2016 he initiated a new era for both institutions, appointing Riccardo Chailly as the new Music Director of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and Wolfgang Rihm as Artistic Director of the Lucerne Festival Academy. In the fall of 2013, he teamed with Anish Kapoor and Arata Isozaki to launch the Lucerne Festival Ark Nova, a mobile concert hall. This innovative social project was created as a gift for the Japanese population living in the area affected by the 2011 earthquake.

In the spring of 2021, he announced a new structure for Lucerne Festival, categorizing the programming into the three areas labeled “Symphony,” “Contemporary,” and “Music for Future.” He additionally founded the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra (LFCO) in 2021, a top-level orchestra devoted to contemporary music, which also performs abroad at renowned festivals and musical organizations. Haefliger has also launched three new smaller festivals in recent years: “Lucerne Festival Forward” for contemporary music, which takes place in November; a spring festival featuring the Lucerne Festival Orchestra; and a piano festival that takes place in May and is curated by the pianist Igor Levit.

Born in Berlin in 1961, Michael Haefliger began studying the violin and piano at the age of six; he completed his violin studies at the Juilliard School of Music in New York in 1983, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree. In 1985, together with his brother Andreas, he made his debut at Lucerne Festival, which at the time was still known as the Lucerne International Music Festival. He subsequently studied management at the Schools of Business, Law, and Social Sciences at St. Gallen University, earning his Executive MBA in 1999. In 2003, Haefliger received a scholarship (through the Harvard Club of Switzerland) to attend the General Manager Program at Harvard University. Haefliger serves as a board member on international organizations; in January 2000, he was named “Global Leader for Tomorrow” by the World Economic Forum in Davos. He received the European Cultural Innovation Award in 2003, and, in 2007, the Tourism Award from Lucerne’s Tourism Forum. In 2014, he garnered the Cultural Award of Central Switzerland and was additionally given the Badge of Honor of the City of Lucerne and the Swiss Society of New York Award.

Michael Haefliger is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Davos Festival, the UBS Cultural Foundation, the Pierre Boulez Foundation, and, since 2020, the Swiss Youth Music Competition. He was additionally a member of the Board of Trustees of the World Arts Forum from 2012 to 2018 and a member of the Board of Trustees of Avenir Suisse from 2008 to 2020. He serves as Chairman of the Jury for the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award. Michael Haefliger is an alumnus of the Juilliard School of Music, St. Gallen University, and the Harvard Business School.

David M. Hryck is head of International Business and Structuring for Duane Morris LLP.

He advises clients on the tax and business aspects of structuring their investments for maximum profitability and has in-depth experience with cross-border investments and various licensing structures. He has represented and continues to represent celebrities, entertainers, designers, global companies, individuals, and international families. David has international proficiency with corporations as well as with individuals across the globe, and he is recognized for his long track record of structuring transactions. David is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French and has a working knowledge of Mandarin.

David is a valued and trusted advisor, board member, and mentor to several trusts and global charities. Currently, he serves as a trustee on various trusts of his clients. He serves on the board of directors of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, and was a board member and Chairman of the Happy Hearts Fund, founded by fashion model Petra Nĕmcová.

He is a World Fellow of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award for Excellence Fund, founded by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and travels regularly to royal occasions around the world, advising on international interaction in Third World countries. David also served as a U.S. member of the Duke’s Business Advisory Group, headed by HRH Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex. He is also a board member of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, founded by TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia.

David is a board member of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development, which was founded by Vuk Jeremić, President of the United Nations General Assembly for the 67th Session. David also serves as co-chair of the Board of Directors of Lang Lang International Music Foundation, founded by world-renowned concert pianist, Lang Lang. David is also a board member of Pencils for Promise (POPs), founded by Adam Braun, and he serves as vice chair of the Asia Practice at the Asian American Bar of New York. David joined the honorary board of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, founded by HRH Prince Philip and chaired by HRH Prince Edward. He recently joined the Board of Directors of the Mariano Rivera Foundation.

David was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Jonathan Koon Wan Lam’s origin is from Hong Kong and is now a resident of London. He was educated as a lawyer here in the UK and for the last ten years has been running his own Property Investment and Development Projects in the UK.

He set up Harrison (UK) Capital Limited and NE Capital Investment a unique company that manages investment funds from Thailand and from Hong Kong China. With his broad connections and rich experience in the UK property market, he leads a team and provides advisory services and partnerships with major well known Chinese Entrepreneurs who start investing in UK.

With his long-term connections with China’s government, major state-owned companies, private large & small enterprises, family enterprises, he is currently the Vice-chairman of the UK China Economic and Trade Promotion Association. He has contributed a lot of his efforts to building up the connection between UK and China. This association has provided necessary knowledge and assistance towards different enterprises setting up company and investing in UK.

He has also active involvement and contribution on different Chinese Society in UK like Chinese China Town Association & Chinese Properties Professional Society. He is also appointed as the Vice President of the Euro Chinese Sport Association.

Jonathan and his wife Amy are philanthropists and support charities such as The Elton John foundation, Amfar, Save the children, TNC China Environmental Charity just to name afew.

They are also supporting Centrepoint and sponsoring an award each year.

Amy Mei Yin Lam Poon is married to Jonathan Lam and have 2 children Anice age 22 graduated from UCLA and Johnson age 20 read Arhitecture at UCL. She is originally from HK China but now a resident in London.

Besides looking after the family she has always been the business partner of her husband. She has unique views and strong experience in property investment and has been involved in major acquisitions for overseas investors. Amy is passionate about design and architecture and has strong connections with global brands around the world.

She is very active in different kind of events and functions in Hong Kong, China, UK or Europe. Amy actively contributes to charities such as The Elton John foundationAmfar, Save the children , and the Eva Longoria Foundation just to name afew.

She is President in UK and HK of the Jubilee Sailing trust Charity which set up by the Queen for helping handicaps people especially teeanagers. Joseph T. Rallo has been the Chief Executive Officer of EF Hutton since he co-founded the firm in May of 2020.

Prior to co-founding EF Hutton, Joseph held several leadership positions in the Investment Banking and Securities industry with over 15 years of experience in public and private transactions including IPOs, Secondaries/Follow-on Offerings, Registered Directs, SPACs, PIPEs, Privates, Fixed Income and Fairness Opinions. Most recently, Joseph was Co-Head of Investment Banking/Managing Director at Aegis Capital. Prior to that, he was a Vice President in the Financial Institutions & Real Estate Investment Banking Group at JMP Securities before becoming a Director in the Investment Banking Group at Maxim Group. Throughout his career, Joseph has closed more than 500 transactions for over $60 billion in gross proceeds.

Joseph proudly serves on the executive board of directors for The Rousseau Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth in communities with the greatest need to reach their full potential and pursue higher education, and he serves on the advisory board for Keep A Child Alive, a nonprofit organization that provides healthcare, housing, and other support services to HIV/AIDS-affected communities in Africa and India. Additionally, Joseph serves on the board of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, which was founded by Princess Katherine to reduce and relieve the suffering of physically and mentally disabled children, orphans, the elderly as well as improved medical facilities in Serbia. He also proactively addresses the needs of children and veterans through his corporate partnerships with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Heroes Among Us.

Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.

Elizabeth Segerstrom was born in Olsztyn, Poland. Her family had fled from the Soviet Regime to Lithuania after World War II. When Elizabeth was fifteen, her family moved first to Warsaw and later to St. Petersburg, where her father served as the Polish cultural attaché. On her departure from Warsaw, she was unaware that her flight would be the last; Soviet Marshall Law closed Poland’s borders. Her father was arrested for his support of the Polish Solidarity Movement and died in prison.

After earning degrees in psychology from Warsaw University and the University of Geneva, academic research led Elizabeth to Yale University, followed by a Rockefeller Foundation Scholarship to study at New York University. After receiving her doctorate, she established the first clinic in New York City to serve the mental health needs of eastern European immigrants in their native languages (Elizabeth speaks Polish, Russian, French, and English).

In 1991, Elizabeth co-authored a “self-help” book with Susan Israelson, Lovesick–The Marilyn Syndrome, a New York Times bestseller, translated into Polish and Russian. The authors postulate that childhood emotional deprivation handicaps women in romantic relationships. The life of Marilyn Monroe is used as a case study. For several years in the 1990s, Elizabeth wrote a weekly psychology column for a Polish newspaper.

In 2000, Elizabeth met and married Henry Segerstrom. Soon after, she became involved with the design of the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. In 2003, she chaired its six-week opening celebration including a spectacular opening night, coordinating the Performing Arts Center’s arts partners’ participation. In 2006, she chaired the opening of their Samueli Theater. That year, Elizabeth and Henry Segerstrom orchestrated a three-week Mariinsky Festival that featured the first Southern California presentation of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. In 2007, they launched the new Elizabeth and Henry Segerstrom Select Series, a collaboration with the Philharmonic Society of Orange County that continues to bring the highest quality international performances to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. More recently, she supervised the production of a PBS documentary on her late husband and his impact on the life and arts of Southern California. In 2018, she produced a concert with the Mariinsky Orchestra in her late husband’s memory.

Elizabeth Segerstrom is a major donor to Carnegie Hall, The American Ballet Theater, The Orange County Museum of Art, as well as The Hammer Museum, The Colburn School, and many other institutions supporting classical music, ballet, and contemporary art. The Guilds of the Center, a support group for the Orange County Performing Arts Center, honored Elizabeth Segerstrom in 2007. She received the Golden Baton Award from the Philharmonic Society of Orange County in 2011.

He currently serves as a board member of LifeLine NY, a charity foundation focused on attain medical equipment for the underprivileged children of Serbia Headed by HRH Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia, Kyle is also is a board member of the CIRSD (Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development) headed by Vuk Jeremic, the 67th President of the United Nations General Assembly and Project Rousseau, who’s mission is to empower youth in communities with the greatest need to reach their full potential and pursue higher education.

Kyle is also a Board Member of Lang Lang International Music Foundation, Which believes that all children should have access to a music education, regardless of their background. At the Lang Lang International Music Foundation®️, we strive to educate, inspire, and motivate the next generation of music lovers and performers.

On Feb 21 2019 Kyle was honored by Crown Princess Katherine with the LifeLine Humanitarian Award.

Kyle also has various business interests and is a board member of Line Up Media Group, a media company, Conceived to circumvent traditional entertainment barriers, deliver fresh, ultramodern alternatives for audiences who determine how they want their entertainment, when they want it, and where they want it…on demand.

Kyle is also a Partner at Merakia, an award winning Greek Steakhouse in the Flatiron district of NYC.
