Fourth annual collaboration with the Midwest Young Artists (MYA).
2015 Young Scholar participants included: Janice Carissa, Matthew Chan, Avery Lin Gagliano, Maxim Lando, Sherri Lun, Clayton Stephenson, and Elliot Wuu. Together with the MYA orchestra, under the direction of conductor and Artistic Director, Dr. Allan Dennis, Scholars performed Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, and Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
Performances took place at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, as part of the The Grant Park Summer Classical Concert Series. Young Scholars also had the unique opportunity to perform at America’s oldest outdoor music festival–the Historic Ravinia Festival. In addition to performing at two of the largest, and most well-known concert venues in Chicago, the Young Scholars and MYA students also gave a beautiful Chamber Music Concert at the home of Midwest Young Artists.
Between their busy rehearsal schedule and intensive music study, Young Scholars and MYA students still had plenty of opportunities to get to know one another with a variety of games and activities, all of which were designed to create a sense of camaraderie among all Scholars and Students.
