Steel School Celebrates Keys of Inspiration Piano Lab!
Edward T. Steel School, in Philadelphia, celebrated the opening of their Keys of Inspiration piano lab on Tuesday, March 28th! The lab is a result of a partnership between the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and the School District of Philadelphia. After the ribbon cutting, students showed off their new piano skills for their parents. The event featured a special performance by LLIMF Young Scholar Alumnus, Maxim Lando.
Edward T. Steel (K-8):
· Recipient of “Children’s Literacy Initiative” and a grant for reading specialist services
· Offers Girls Inc. to encourage young ladies to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
· Partnered with Educationworks, and the Boys and Girls club
The vision of the Edward T. Steel Elementary School is to become a professional learning community that will create a culture of “Unlimited Possibilities” and “Equity for All Students” that is fostered by a set of guided principles embedded in the hearts and minds of people throughout the school.
Their mission is to provide a safe, clean, standards driven environment where all children are given a chance to achieve at high levels through a variety of experiences that are relevant, rigorous and fun. The Steel School’s staff, parents and community are committed to providing a productive learning environment that shares common values, practices collective inquiry, engages in collaborative team building, strives for continuous improvement and is action and results oriented.
