Man Hin Lung

I will treasure the chance to study with Lang Lang and other famous pianists, as well as the chance to link with other young scholars, who share the same character to music lover with me. Music is just like magic. It can go deep inside everyone’s soul and make a change there. I can’t wait to perform as a young scholar and start spreading my joy and hope to people all over the world.”

Lung Man Hin Wilson was born in 2005, and started learning piano at the age of 6 at GMC School of Music. In 2013, at the age of 8, he was admitted into the GMC Young Pianist Program and he currently studies with GMC principal Ms Rizzo Chung and senior teacher Mr. Gary Wong.

Wilson received many prizes in local and international competitions, including multiple wins in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival from 2013-2017. He was awarded First Prize at the Junior Exhibitioner Award in 2017 and was invited to perform in the Prize-winners’ concert held in Hong Kong Shatin Town Hall Auditorium, which was broadcasted on RTHK4.

He was also the First Prize winner of the Hong Kong Children and Youth Piano Contest Age 9 and Under Category, and Age 15 and Under Category in 2015 and 2017 respectively.

In July 2015, Wilson won the First Prize of the Fourth Japan-Hong Kong international Music Competition Professional Category Piano Section Junior B Class. He was also awarded the special jury prize “Tokyo College of Music Prize”, a which consists of a scholarship of Tokyo to perform in the 2015 Goodwill Concert at the Tokyo College of Music.

In the same year, he was also a prizewinner in the 79th Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition (Hong Kong & Macau Region) and represented Hong Kong in the China Final which was held in Ningbo, where he won the First Prize in the Amateur Class aged 10-12.

In July 2017, Wilson attended the 21th Piara Piano Competition which was held in Hamamatsu-Japan, where he received the First Prize in Senior A Category, as well as PIARA Grand Prix Shizuoka Prefectural Governor’s Award.

Besides playing the piano, Wilson has other interests, including playing the erhu, reading Chinese literature and graphic illustration. He also loves to travel, and dreams of a performance career that would take him to different places in the world where he can immerse in different cultures and communicate through music.
