Chiu-Ti Jansen

Chiu-Ti Jansen is a TV presenter, a publisher and a writer based in New York City.  


She has hosted featured video presentations on the New York Fashion Week and CFDA Awards for China’s SINA FASHION and PHOENIX FASHION, interviewing designers and super models such as Vera Wang, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Liu Wen, Shu Pei, Phillip Lim and Zang Toi. She is the host of a video presentation on the inaugural Phoenix Fashion Awards, which aired through Fashion TV in more than 100 countries. In January 2013 she was the only guest from overseas invited to walk the red carpet at the SINA’s Annual WEIBO Gala in Beijing. She has appeared as a fashion expert on China’s top-rated fashion/beauty show I Am a Great Beauty and has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, Women’s Wear Daily, World Journal, Jing Daily, SINOVISION, China Press, and Sing Tao Daily, among others.

Ms. Jansen founded CHINA HAPPENINGS™, a multimedia platform, to focus on the lifestyle and cultural industries of contemporary China. She writes a blog titled CHINESE ELEMENTS for international house Sotheby’s and a column titled New YORK IN STYLE for Financial Times’ Chinese Edition. She wrote a column titled CHINA HAPPENINGS for the NYO Magazine. She has also written on Chinese luxury lifestyle and cultural scenes for English publications such as Sotheby’s at Auction magazine and Whitewall Magazine. A native speaker and writer of Mandarin Chinese, she regularly contributed to the China Times, the United Daily and The Artist’s Magazine on a wide array of cultural and art-related issues.

Ms. Jansen is the Publisher of YUE Magazine, a preeminent Chinese-English lifestyle magazine published by a joint venture between Jared Kushner’s Observer Media and CHINA HAPPENINGS™. YUE is modern luxury Chinese travelers’ gateway to the high-end, history-rich brands across New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas’ fine jewelry, watch, fashion, art, culture, design, real estate and lifestyle industries. Since its launch in November 2011, YUE has gained a following among Chinese business and leisure travelers and the luxury businesses on both coasts as the embodiment of New York’s and West Coast’s international lifestyle.

Prior to founding CHINA HAPPENINGS™, Ms. Jansen had a distinguished Wall Street career as a New York-based corporate partner of Sidley Austin LLP, an international law firm of approximately 1,700 lawyers worldwide, and an investment banker with Credit Suisse. She holds a B.A. from the National Taiwan University, an M.Phil. from Yale University and a J.D. from Columbia University. While at Yale, she served as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal of Law and the Humanities. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of American Composers Orchestra. In addition to being an International Honorary Ambassador of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, Ms. Jansen is currently a Board Member of the Couture Council of Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and a life member of the Elizabethan Club (for Renaissance Studies) of Yale University. Art and Living Magazine featured her in an interview included in its 2012 Bridging the East and the West Edition. SINOVISION’s “W.E. Talk” recently featured Ms. Jansen in a full-length, dedicated interview that is currently in its multiple reruns. In April 2013 she received the Trailblazer Award for Outstanding Asian Entrepreneur from USPAACC NE. In 2014, DAILY FASHION REPORT, a subscription-based online fashion magazine dedicated to high-end fashion, named Ms. Jansen to its “New” Best-Dressed List for 2014 and published a dedicated profile titled “Social Graces” on her.
